Who are you calling CHEAP?

In 2009, The average American spent $2,619.00 eating food away from home. That’s a lot of money and could very well be towards a car payment, a better apartment, things for your home or even a vacation! I’m really cheap … although frugal is a much better word. The secret ingredient is …

I adore IRON CHEF! Such a great show. The things that happen in Kitchen Stadium are sometimes culinary miracles. When Philadelphia Restauranter Jose Garces became one of the Iron Chef’s it was thrilling for me. After all he is one of my philly fav’s. Have you had the fries at Village Whiskey yet? They are unreal! Garces Restaurant Group includes: Amada, Distrito, Tinto, Chifa, Village Whiskey, Garces Trading Co., JG Domestic, and then one in Chicago called Mercat. Jodie and Julia and Ccelli and Bread

So last night at about 2am … Ccelli says “Have you thought about making a nice baguette”? I know how this conversation goes … thats Ccelli’s pillow talk. His wish list of treats he would like to eat. It’s one of the things I love about him. As Rich Quick says, “He’s the skinniest fat guy I know”. But the truth is, I hadn’t thought about a French Baguette. Taking on any kind of French Food is a daunting task. So I called on the master of making French Cuisine understandable, Julia Childs. She had this knack of making complicated […]
